My goal as a teacher is to help all children reach their highest potential. All children are capable of learning; it just might take a little extra time and effort to find the “right” way for he/she to grasp a concept whether it is academic or social. I believe all children are individuals and should be treated as such. In today’s society children need all the support we can muster for them. The world around them can be harsh, I feel students gain much from having the extra support from their teachers, besides family and friends. Because the world around us is complex and diverse, I feel it's important that teachers take a part in the student’s life, in order to gain their trust. A teacher needs to make sure the positive things that affect a child are seen. A child’s dreams can be accomplished if the support is given to them. This is how I got where I am. Through the support of family, friends, and of course, teachers. Be assured teachers like myself, can make a difference in the lives of the children and youth we work with... If I may paraphrase a favorite verse “teach children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.” –Proverbs 22:6
